The cruise season has now commenced, with the model boat challenge the first sail of the year. This hotly fought challenge saw club members sail homemade boats in competition with Woodbridge Model Boat Club on Woodbridge Boating Lake.
The popular Fitting Out supper is the start of the season, and at this sell out dinner members enjoyed a delicious three course meal, with the fifteen puddings the highlight for many. Thanks to Rosemary for organising this scrumptious feast.
Members are looking forward to the inaugural cruise in May, the Deben Discovery, followed by the Ore and Alde, before venturing further afield.
The penultimate walk was from Newbourne to Waldringfield, this pleasant stroll with views of the Deben was led by Peter and finished with lunch at the Newbourne Fox. The ultimate walk was an intriguing tour of Felixstowe Hydrocycle organised by Bram. This was a fascinating visit to the water pumping station at King’s Fleet followed by lunch at the Ferry Boat Inn.
Two of our members, Graham and Alison, prepared a fantastic Spice night with 6 curries and side dishes to choose from.
